I was in the sports information field for 36 years as the sports information director at three different colleges or universities--Morningside College (1968-73), U. of Northern Iowa (1973-74), North Dakota State U. (1974-2004)...I am a member of a number of Hall of Fames including the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame, Morningside College Hall of Fame, and the North Central Conference Hall of Fame...I was awarded the Warren Berg Award for outstanding contributions to the field of Sports Information by CoSIDA...In addition, I was the baseball coach at North Dakota State for five years and set the record for the most victories in school history when I gave it up...I was a member of the NCAA regional selection committee in baseball and umpired baseball for 35 years before giving it up in the early 1990s...I currently am a member of the Board of Directors of the Fargo American Legion baseball program and was instrumental in bringing the American Legion World Series to Fargo in the summer of 2009...I also serve on the Hall of Fame committee for Fargo American Legion baseball and have put together and coordinated yearly winter banquets for American Legion baseball in Fargo by bringing in Bert Blyleven, Paul Molitor, Robin Roberts, Gaylord Perry, Rick Helling, Rollie Fingers, Mudcat Grant, Ferguson Jenkins, and George Foster for $100-a-plate dinners that have drawn as many as 300 to 500 people per banquet...I also served as a member of the Roger Maris Celebrity Golf Tournament Committee for more than a decade...I am currently retired and enjoying retirement by golfing and boating in the summer, organizing and playing computer baseball (12 member league) in the winter, and helping with my three granddaughters all year long.
