As a friend from Washington Grade School and High School,  I feel honored to share Lorin's last few years.

When I returned from overseas in 1966, I ran into Lorin at Peter's Park. He had tried to enlist in the

Navy but was turned down because of a cronic kidney problem. Imagine my surprise when I found

out that he had a weekend pass and was stationed at Fort Belvoir Virginia. I was stationed in

Maryland, detacted from Andrews AFB.

We spent he weekend at our place and Lorin said he had been drafed and because of his kidney

problem that the Army told him he could only be staioned in Alaska, Germany and the U.S.

Lorin took an early out and re-enlisted for three years in order to get a technical school and was

at Fort Belvoir learning heavy equipment.

I learned later that after graduation Lorin was sent to Veit Nam and survived with no problems

but was told if he volunteered for a second tour, he would be discharged a year sooner.

During his second tour he contracted malaria which distroyed his kidneys.

May you find the Peace you so richly deserve.
